Dear Parents/Guardians and Interested Readers:

Welcome to the EJHS Webpage! As you know, the clusters, special area teachers, and students are involved in isome very interesting insturctuion and learning. I encourage you to have a daily dialogue with you student about the learning they are engaged in at EJHS.<BR>

LASSSA, the Language Arts Social Studies Summative Assessment is upon us. For those of you who are unfamiliar with LASSSA, it is a long term performance based assessment that is the student's "final exam." It is a complex project that involves many steps to be successfully completed. Inside are the dates of a number of parent meetings to explain the process and procedures involved in the execution of this assessment. Our commitment to this intstrument is validated tby the movement of NYS exams such as the Regents exams to this type of format.<BR>

We are looking forward to the "Wellness Week" which is scheduled for March 24-27. This fun week is full of activities promoting student awareness of the conept of wellness and its importance in our lives. Workshops, assemblies, and a talent show provede a myriad of different learning opportunitiess revolving around topics ranging from career awareeness to stress reduction. It is vey popular and is anticipated by our students each year.<BR>

Also, please take a minute to review the "Safe Haven" information with your student in the newsletter. This program provides children or seniors a haven if they feel threatened. Stores that display the logo are committed to providing a safe place for our children. <BR>
