Turks in Bulgaria

In Bulgaria, Turks are around 859,000. This is 9.8% of the country's population of 8,769,000. They lived scattered in Bulgaria, and are remnants of the Rumelian Turks of the Ottoman Empire which dominated the lower Balkans until the late 19th century. Of the estimated 7 million Rumelian Turks who had lived in the Balkan region at the turn of the century, most emigrated to Turkey, leaving only about 1.5 million in all of the Balkan states.

Regarding spellings, look at the table below, but taking in mind that the where Macedonian is mentioned, Bulgarian should appear (the same transliterated signs are used in Macedonian and Bulgarian):

Turkiarrak Bulgarian

Bulgarian turkiarrak ia milioi bat lagun dira, populazio osoaren %10 ia-ia. Gutxiengo nabarmena, beraz, baina eskualde propiorik gabea, oso zabaldurik baitaude: Garai bateko Rumeliako Turkiarren azken multzo handiak dira. 19. mendean, Rumeliako Turkiarrak 7 milioi inguru ziren Balkanetan, baina gehienak Turkiara joan ziren, eta 1.5 milioi geratu ziren soilik..

Idazkerari dagokionez, bulgariera transliteratzeko eta turkiera idazteko behar diren zeinu berezi batzuk beheko taulan adierazi bezala ageri dira orri honetan. [Taulan Mazedoniera irakurriko duzu, baina Bulgariarentzat berdin balio dute zeinu horiek].
