Name changes

Name changes have been common in the Soviet era, and after it. Here we have several tables:
Check other tables from the former Soviet Union. See also the maps below. Usual english transliterations appear at this page.

Izen natibo ofizialak

Sobiet Batasuneko garaian, izen errusiarra zuten hiri batzuek izen hori galdu egin zuten, eta Errusieraz ere jatorrizko hizkuntzako izena erabili izan da harrezkero toki horietarako. Errusiatik kanpo gertatu zen hau (Tiflis/Tbilisi Georgian edo Vilna/Vilnius Lituanian adibideek erakusten duten bezala), baina Errusiaren barruan ere, ondoko kasuetan bezala.

Nativised names

Some cities that had a stablished Russian name changed it to a native official name during the Soviet period, and were therefore used that way also in Russian. This happened outside Russia (with names like Tiflis/Tbilisi in Georgia or Vilna/Vilnius in Lithuania), but also within Russia as in these examples:

* Errusieraz (lehen) / * Russian (formerly)

* Jatorrizko izena, orain ofiziala / * Native official name
