The Kitchen Bull
Where did the name KUCHENBULLEN (say koo-shen-bull-ehn) come from?
During the Second World War the German Wehrmacht soldiers were fed from a field mess on a cart they nicknamed a Gulashcanone .The field mess was ruled with an iron hand by the men known as the KUCHENBULLEN (Kitchen Bulls). They would sweat gallons into the soup and make bread from up to 40% sawdust. would also forage for meat and sometimes serve horse.
