President’s Note

Recently a survey was sent home in Mrs. Loetterle’s weekly "Principal’s Note" asking for your inputs on how this year’s Jog-A-Thon money should be spent. To date, only one response has been received. I know how easy it is for items from school to be misplaced or overlooked (or they never make it home at all!). With that in mind, we have set as the primary agenda item for our January 4th PTA meeting a discussion/decision on how the funds will be disbursed. I invite and encourage you to attend this meeting; it will be the final opportunity for you to voice your opinion. I look forward to seeing you on January 4th at 7:00 p.m. in the Media Center.

Loraine Liscano, PTA President

Vice President’s Note

Even though we were only open for one day this year, The Holiday Gift Shop was a Big Success. Students were anxiously awaiting the opening of the doors to do their holiday shopping! We did have a few back orders to fill because we ran out of merchandise, but hopefully all the students got what they had wanted. I would like to say a big

to all the volunteers who so generously gave their time in helping the students with their purchases, selections, and secret wrapping. We hope it was a positive experience for everyone involved and will be deciding if it will be held again next year in one of the up-coming PTA meetings. If anyone wishes to express their opinions we would welcome any suggestions. A special "Thank You" to Cathi Miller who worked many extra hours in helping me fill the back orders and deliver the gifts to every student at school. You were truly a "Blessing" to me.

The Fanning PTA wishes all of you a Happy and Healthy Holiday Season!

Board Game Night Returns…By Popular Demand

The turnout last year for our first Board Game Family Night was so great that we’re going to repeat it again this year. MARK YOUR CALENDARS NOW for FRIDAY, JANUARY 21, 7:00 p.m. in the Media Center. Bring your favorite game(s) to play and a "munchie" to share with the others in attendance. This is a wonderful chance to spend some quality time with family and friends. Look for more info to come home after the winter break

Send Sarah Voerman Your Letters!

Sarah Voerman, 9, has lymphatic cancer. She will be in and out of the hospital for chemo treatments for a year. She recently moved with her parents, John and Mary from Brea to La Habra. Sarah gets bored in the hospital. She would love to get some mail and notes, especially from Fanning classmates.

Her address is 500 Las Lomas, La Habra, 90631. Sarah was in Mrs. K's class and Mrs. Hathaways.
