Why ?

"I've never felt this way before." "I never hurt this way before and it  just won't go away."  Are you feeling this way right now? Maybe you feel torn inside, ripped apart. These feelings and many other feeling are going through your soul because of separation or  you are going through a divorce. You hurt inside, but why?
You must start and examine what the Bible says about marriage, in Genesis 2:24, "For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh. "
That's what exactly  happens when you marry. You become one flesh. When you are divorce you have a literal tearing of your soul, it leaves such damage and so much pain. You are broken hearted, in the Bible the greek word for broken hearted is "suntribo" meaning break to pieces..., to tear ones body and shatter ones strength. Because you are torn so deeply within your soul it takes God your Father to repair the brokenness. This takes much time for the process to be complete. Many times we look to other relationships to find comfort only to find that it does not work either. It is because you are not healed and take all that baggage to anther relationship.
You must first allow God to heal, restore to you, who you really are. This can take months and most times years. Sure for awhile the new relationship takes away the pain much like Novocain but once it wears off, back comes the hurt and most often it is worse than before.
The way to begin  the healing process is to focus on a relationship with God. He is our Healer our friend in need. Secondly we suggest a support group. A Ministry called DivorceCare has videos and material to start support groups. There are many started all over the country, in local churches. Check out their web site to see  if they have a group near you.

We at Turtledove Ministries conduct a couple groups each week in Hillsborough NC.  We are praying if it is the Lord's will to conduct Saturday seminars to other churches to help people of divorce to begin the healing process and to recruit others to continue an on going support group. Talk with you pastor and contact us if you think this would be something needed at your church. Then email us we will be glad to share the DivorceCare material with you.
