This page is for those interested in information on adopting a Rhodesian Ridgeback rescue.

Rescue Coordinators match Ridgebacks needing homes with people looking for a new pet Rhodesian Ridgeback.  Some of the dogs coming into Rescue come from local Shelters.  Some are relinquished by their owners, for a variety of reasons.  Usually, the dogs coming into Rescue are adults, between the ages of 2 years and 8 years.  All dogs coming through Rescue are spayed/neutered and current on their immunizations.

Puppies rarely come into Rescue.  If you are looking for a puppy, contact a Breeder.  Be sure you find one who does health screenings for Hip Dysplasia, at the very minimum.  All responsible Rhodesian Ridgeback Breeders will also check their puppies for congenital defects, such as Dermoid Sinus.  Most Rescue Coordinators can refer you to a breeder in your area.

There are Coordinators rescuing and placing Rhodesian Ridgebacks, all over the United States and Canada.
