Chained Wings

He can't leave ground
though he soars for the skies
Bound by whispers vague - but clear
bound by the reality in their eyes
The arrogance of the earth
the sound of wingstrokes in his ears
The urge to fight, the urge to scream
the need to break the choking fears

Who chained his wings?
Who sealed his fate?
Who let him be
a prisoned wind?
Such a sick joke
Such a theft
Such a punishment for
an uncommitted sin

He can't leave ground
and he soars for the skies
His dreams became to challenging
for the convincing lies
Will he ever break the chains
that fold his wings in pain?
Will he ever beat the pulse
and learn to fly again...
