Cloudy eyes
In the seconds
we escape from sleep
we're all children with
cloudy eyes
who strive to learn
and know
a world
our dreams
barely can leave,
grasping for air.
For our eyes
are mirrors,
but they can not reflect
the truth
we seek and fear
of our own
hidden inhumanity
that the dark nights
cuddle into
our dreams.
And in the distance
and innosence
we rub our eyelids
and become mortal
to our own lies,
once again.
