Elizabeth's Vincent Price Page 2

The Ten Commandments:

In 1956, Vincent played Baka in "The Ten Commandments". People have said this about this movie: "Everyone who is someone in Hollywood is in 'The Ten Commandments'". This is true, because the film stars important hollywood actors such as Charlton Heston, Anne Baxter, Yul Brynner, Edward G. Robinson, and many others. The film was quite successful, and was nominated for a Best Picture Academy Award.

In 1958, Vincent continued on the path to becoming known as the genius of horror films (some say he's right up there with Boris Karloff!) with "The Fly". In 1959, he reprised his role as François Delambre in "The Return of the Fly". He also made "The Bat" that year. In the 1960's and 1970's, he made a parody of small, freakish horror films. However, some are very well-known now, such as 1962's "Tales of Terror" and 1963's "The Haunted Palace". Then, in 1990, he made a major comeback in one of the best movies ever:

Tim Burton's 'Edward Scissorhands' Price played the inventor in "Edward Scissorhands", which also starred Johnny Depp and Winona Ryder. Vincent took part in several other projects until his death in 1993 from lung cancer.
