Lynne L. Hamilton, Captain, NC, USNR

Captain Lynne Hamilton was born in Cherry Point, North Carolina, the daughter of Major and Mrs. Robert J. Lesak, USMC, Retired. She entered the University of California Irvine in 1968 and transferred to Stanford University in 1971, graduating with degrees in bothe Nursing and Psychology. She was a Navy Nurse Candidate (NNCC) scholorship recipient at Stanford, and was commissioned Ensign in June 1972.
Captain Hamilton reported to Naval Regional Medical Center Memphis, Millington, Tennessee in September 1973 where she served as staff, charge and head nurse on pediatrics, psychiatry and maternal-newborn units until separating from active service in October 1976. During this tour she entered graduate studies at the University of Tennessee Center for the Health Sciences, Memphis, and graduated with a Master of Science degree in Nursing in December 1976. She was also inducted into Sigma Theta Tau, International Honor Society of Nursing for academic achievement in the same year. Upon leaving the service she joined the faculty of the College of Medicine, University of Tennessee Center for the Health Sciences as an instructor in the Family Medicine Residency Program and Graduate School of Nuring.
Captain Hamilton has served as a Selected Reservist sing October 1976. Her assignments have included: Training Officer for NR Surgical Team 109, Memphis, TN; Administrative Officer , NR Civilian Military Contingency Hospital System Coordinating Team 319, Santa Ana, CA; Executive Officer, NR Naval Hospital Long Beach Unit 319, Pomona, CA; Officer in Charge, Detachment K, NR Fleet Hospital 9, Tacoma, WA; Director of Nursing Service, Headquarters Detachment, NR Fleet Hospital 9, Seattle, WA; and most recently with NR Fleet Hospital 9 as the Executive Officer.
In civilian life, Captain Hamilton is the Chief, Associate Staff for Pacific Medical Centers and Clinics and is an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) providing family practice to patients at the Pacific Medical Clinic Bellevue. She lives in Woodinville, Washington with her husband, Wayne who is an executive for the Microsoft Corporation. She maintains membership in the Naval Reserve Association and Association of Military Surgeons of the United States (AMSUS).
Captain Hamiton wears the following personal awards: Meritorious Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal (Second Award), and the Armed Forces Reserve Medal with "M" and hourglass device.
