Outpatient Activities

The Outpatient Pharmacy is the section which leaps into the minds of many people whenever they speak of "the pharmacy" This department is responsible for filling over 50,000 prescriptions per month for all eligible patients.  These individuals must review the prescription, enter the prescription in the computer*, fill check, and recheck each prescription for accuracy, and dispense the finished product to the patient.  These individuals must also counsel patients on the proper use and storage of their medications, warn patients of potentially dangerous side effects, monitor drug interactions and call the prescriber if a significant interaction is detected and also monitor patient compliance to enhance drug therapy and safety.

*unless the prescription is entered by the physician using order entry on their personal computer.

 BX Pharmacy now open for your convenience 

Prescription refills are processed and dispensed at the new Base Exchange (BX) MiniMall. The enhanced capabilities of the new BX pharmacy has allowed changing the "cut off" time for telephone refills. Patients may now call in refills up to 1900 hours Monday through Friday and receive their refilled prescriptions the next day. Refills called in between 1900 hours Friday and 1200 hours Sunday will be ready on Monday. Calls after 1200 hours Sunday will be ready on Tuesday.

Our hours of operation are:  Outpatient:  0800 to 1800 Monday through Friday and 0900 to 1700 on Saturday and Sunday. BX Pharmacy:  0900 TO 1800 Monday through Friday and 1000 to 1700 on Saturdays.  Closed on Sundays and Holidays.
