Njanear's Notes & Links

Thank you for stopping by.  Unfortunately, I have elected to allow this site to become static at this point in time for various reasons, but I still believe that it can be of use, especially to new collectors.  I do wish you luck with your collecting and hope that it brings you much joy.  Regards.

This site was inspired by the many excellent sites out there on military surplus weapons and accessories.  Please feel free to visit them all, as they are all great sites.  I will continually update this page as I discover more sites for use by the collector.  Enjoy!

C&R Information Sites: Back

Welcome to the ATF: Here is the page established by the ATF web site that specifically addresses Firearms. Use this main link to go to the start of the page or use the following for specific areas:

** Curios & Relics List: This is what is specifically listed as Curio and Relic firearms, effective the date listed.
** Application: This contains the downloadable application (Form 5310.16). Print this on 8.5 x 14in. paper and you are on your way.

** ATF 'Bound Book' Requirements:  This JPG is a scan of the ATF requirements on the Acquisition and Disposition Log required of C&R Collectors.  This 'bound book' can be purchased through various sources or even simply created in a spreadsheet program, printed out and stored in a binder for use (if you actually wish to maintain the log on the PC, I understand that you will have to get ATF approval first.)

Cruffler.Com:  A neat site dedicated to the Curio & Relics Licensee.

Other Collector's Sites on Military Firearms: Back
Mosin-Nagant.Net: A top notch site on Finnish and Russian Weapons. Asides from having great information on these fine weapons (Russian SVT-38s & 40s, Finn M27, 28 & 28/30s, Russian M38s & M44s, etc.), Tuco also sponsors several forums and boards at WWW.Gunboards.Com. Make sure that you stop by and check them out.

Jean's Military Guns Photo Gallery: Our friend from the north has assembled an extremely impressive array of photos on his collection. Check this site out if you want to see what everyone is raving about. This has got to be one of the most impressive personal collections online. Enjoy! (Also, check out the sponsor, P&S Gun and Militaria, for nice accessories for your own collection).

The Russian Mosin-Nagant Page: Another excellent site on Mosin-Nagants. It holds a wealth of info such as how to identify the various models, which countries made them, and how to clean them. Highly recommended for the new M-Niac.

The Carcano Homepage: An excellent site on the infamous Italian Carcano rifle. After you read all of this great information, your mind will be changed about them. Another highly recommended site.

Cole Distributing: More ammo for the milsurp shooter.

Huntington's:  Roll your own ammo? Give them a visit for supplies.

Midway USA:  Can't leave these guys out either...

NOTE:  Aside from just wanting to give my viewers some peeks at what is out there, I have no affiliation with any of the above dealers (no kickbacks or gratuities).  I have not used all of them myself but have generally heard enough good comments to post them here.  Therefore, I hope that they do well by each of you but make no promises.

Product Tracking Sites: Back

UPS Tracer: As the BBT (Big Brown Truck) is the prime mover of C&Rs between collectors, here is a quick link to their Tracing service.  All you need is the Shipper's Tracking Number and you can watch your package jump around from site to site.

Federal Express (US) Tracer: And others yet may use Fed Ex for some types of service, so here they are too.  For countries other than the US, simply go through their homepage for assistance at www.fedex.com.

US Post Office:  Can't forget these guys, can we? Although they are not generally the choice of the distributors, they are available for certain things.

Reference Material Sites: Back

North Cape Publications:  Of the many books that they offer on various military weaponry, I am extremely familiar with the works on the Lee Enfield No.1 Mk.III family (Stratton) and the Mosin Nagant Rifle (Lapin) and recommend them highly.  Make sure that you give them a look-see.

Other Shooting/Firearm Sites: Back
Potter Firearms: An excellent competition shooter's site from the 'land down under', Australia.  Plenty of good stories to read as well as nice photos.  Also has some nice firearms and equipment to sell (Note: Firearms have to be properly imported; he explains how on the site).  Give it a glance as it is a great site.

GunHoo:  Want a large directory to point you at many different firearms-related sites?  Visit GunHoo for the mega-links.

AuctionArms:  The up-and-coming online auction site for firearms and firearms-related material.  Give it a look to see what is currently up for sale.

Gunbroker:  Another up-and-coming online auction site for firearms and firearms-related material.  Give it a look to see what is currently up for sale.
