Dear Friends:

Christmas and the New Year is coming. We would like to say thank you. Also we would like to wish you a very merry Christmas and a happy new year.

In the year 2000, we immigrated to Canada. When we arrived to the new country, we felt excited and a little worried. After five years of hard work, we came to a new country, to find a place which belongs to ourselves, that was so exciting to us. We were very happy to meet many new friends who gave us great help. We were very lucky that Jing found a job in Concordia University quickly. 

Now we live in Montreal, the second biggest French City in the world. When we arrived here, we did not know anything. Because everything is in French. We learned "east", "west", "open", "close","4 1/2 apartment",..., etc basic French words. The most funny thing is when we try to rent a apartment, we saw many advertisements along each street. But we did not know what it was until QingQing (Michelle) show us "a louer" means  "rent". Now, Michelle is our French translator. She doesn't like her French study  very much. We are very proud for her. There were two snow storms in the past week.  It was so beautiful and cold. The snow was 25 cm deep even on our balcony. Michelle enjoys  playing with  the snow and playing snow fight with her friends.

I wish I can find a job in the coming year so that we can buy a house. We are so sorry we cannot go back to China for a holiday in Christmas. But we are sure we can make it in next summer.
