Peter Wood (keyboards)

Prolific player (many times credited as Peter Woods), he was born in Middlesex, England. After Quiver, he was a member of Natural Gas (with Joey Molland, Mark Clarke and Jerry Shirley - one album, Natural Gas, 1976), and Rivits (with Jess Roden and Doanne Perry - one album: Multiplay, 1980). In 1980, he joined (along with John 'Willie' Wilson, Andy Bown and Snowy White) to Pink Floyd for the tour promoting The Wall. Around 1984, he joined Lou Reed band (with Lou Reed, Bob Quine, Fernando Saunders and Fred Maher - one album: New sensations, 1984).

He played with Roger Waters in The Wall performance in Berlin in July 1990. This was the lineup for The Bleeding Heart Band:

The list of guest artists appearing is (taken from my videotape): Rundfunkorchester Berlin, Rundfunkchor Berlin, The Hooters, Scorpions, Ute Lemper, Cyndi Lauper, Thomas Dolby, Sinnead O'Connor, The Band, Marianne Faithfull, Rupert Everett, the great Joni Mitchell, James Galway, Bryan Adams, Jerry Hall, Paul Carrack, The Marching Band of the combined soviet forces in Germany, Van Morrison, Tim Curry, Albert Finney. The conductor was Michael Kamen.

On October 1991, there was a great festival held in Seville, Spain. The event was called Guitar Legends. Many fantastic people played there (you can watch more info and some photos in my pages on Neil Murray). Roger Waters came on the 4th day, to play a similar set to the Berlinese concert of The Wall. This time, the all-star lineup included his usual Bleeding Hearts Band, plus some guests (for example, Tony Levin and Bruce Hornsby, who were the musical directors for that day in the festival, usually playing with all the artists):

Sadly, Peter Wood died in December 1993. He'll be always remembered as the man who co-wrote 'Year of the cat' with Al Stewart.

This is just a sample part of his sessions:
