What was that!?
Why does my body jerk so?
Is it remembering the many
Hits and kicks from so long ago?
Who did this to us
You might ask.
Well, our father,
But he wasn't the last.
Our body remembers
What our mind can not face.
How can I keep such
A serene calm face?
All who are around me
Stand up and see
The bruises I ware
Are not for the stare.
They are hid deep beneath
And for evermore
No more will pain my body worship.
Pain kept us alive, both inside and out.
But now it is coming into view and I just have to shout.
Why daddy did you do this to us?!
What made you hate your little girl's love?
Why did you turn it all inside out?
Why did you make us you to hate without a doubt?
Why can we not be like any other child,
Who knows how to love, and to laugh, and to smile?
Why must we now these things face
When our life's clock is about to lose the race?
How can someone as old as this body
Not have any memories of a childhood that is pretty?
What caused us to keep our eyes shut or hid
How can we say what they really did?
How can we expect you outsiders to understand?
We see your blank stares and hear your false words.
We just want truth on this earth
Before to our rest we must go.
