Vaalimaa in Finland is a village at the Finnish-Russian border on the motorway between Helsinki and Moscow. On the picture the border is behind the camera.
The Wailing Wall is a rest of the old Jewish Temple in Jerusalem, that was devastated in the year 72. Now it is the spot where the orthodox Jews make their prayers, day and night. The site of The Wall gives a lot of information about the place. You even can email a prayer and somebody will place the paper in a hole in the wall.

Big Brother lives in the town of Apeldoorn in The Netherlands. I live near this place, so if the sun is shining it is shining for me too. But when it rains.... Icepick is is maybe the craziest webcam site in the world. The owner has eight cams around his house: two outdoor, two on his desk, two in the kitchen, one for his cats and one for the desktop of his computer. Next to it he is registering everything that happens: how often the doorbell rings, the fridge is opened, the phone is rings, the toilet is used. Even he has the first Internet-connected trash-can in the world. You can see what was thrown in it....
Paris is the capital of 'La douce France' and the tower that Eiffel built is world famous. The view on this iron tower is only one on the original site 'Vue Paris'. You can choose four other places and also zoom the pictures. This webcam is on line 06.00-20.00 hours UTC.

The Falls Cam for one of the most famous waterfalls in the world is owned by the Sheraton Hotel, that is situated next to the ravine. You also can make a virtual tour in the hotel. In the lobby you get a view of 360 degrees like you turn yourself around! You can book for a New Years party for the New Millennium on a boat. The arrangement takes four days and the price is only $ 2,300.

A view on Manhattan from one of the two towers of the World Trade Center. Another interesting view in New York is given by Earthcam. Cape Canaveral (FL), USA
On this spot on Cape Canaveral the Space Shuttle is waiting for the countdown before its launch in space. The webcam is one of twelve the American space organisation NASA has in use on its NASA-Cams site. They give a lot of information about preparing the trip, the weather and the time before launching. You also can download there programs to spot the satellites in space.

The Panama Channel, here at Miraflores at the site of the Pacific Ocean, was built 1904-1914. The Panama Canal Site, that owns the webcam, tells that daily there are 36-38 transits. The trip takes 8-10 hours. A ship is raised 85 feet (over 25 meters) in a couple of locks.
Santa Fé de Bogota, Colombia
Traffic in Santa Fé de Bogota, the capital of Colombia, the northenmost country of South America. The city has a vibrant cultural life, a futuristic architecture and many tourist sttes, but also a lot of traffic. The site Camara Web rn Bogota however gives only brief information, in Spanish.

Pikes Peak (CO), USA
The 14.,110 feet (4,233 meters) high Pikes Peak was discovered in 1806 by lieutenant Zebulon Montgomery Pike. The informative Pikes Peak Cam site tells that he called the mountain 'Great Peak', but did not succeed to climb it; "no one could" - until 1820. In 1893 Katherine Lee Bates was so inspired by the view from the top that she composed 'America the Beautiful'." Today you can come there by rail, car of foot. The 26 mile record by foot, up and down, is three hours and 24 minutes.

This is a shot out of the window of Land Management's Northern Field Office in Fairbanks in the eastern- and northernmost American state of Alaska. Fairbanks was founded due to gold discovered in gold rush of 1903-04. It is Alaska's second largest city.
This webcam is owned by the site The Bartender Joke of the Day and gives a look from Ewa Beach in the south of the biggest Hawaii island of Oahu on the mountains near Aiea, next to Pearl Harbor. Total area is 594 sq. miles - 44 miles long and 30 miles wide and 112 miles of coastline. Oahu has over 836,000 residents.
