| A LITTLE BOY'S WORLD A little boys world is a wondrous world Of caterpillars, toads and frogs. Of pocketsful of treasures And shaggy-coated dogs. A little boys world is a learning place Of all the earth's sweet ways. From splashing in a puddle To glorious golden days. A little boy's world is a curious world, A mixture of bitter and sweet, Of tears and happy smiles And restless wriggley feet. A little boy's world is a growing world, Of a body growing up fast. His clothes are always too small And his sneakers never last. A little boy's world is a mother's world Of soothing small boy fears. Shy little hugs and a few little kisses And sleeping with teddy bears. A little boy's world is a noisy place, Of shouts and running feet. He simply cannot be quiet And it's impossible to stay in his seat. A little boy's world is a spiritual world, Full of innocence and bliss. His soul knows the joy of feeling The imprint of the Savior's kiss. (c) 1999 karen garner written for Thomas, when he was six. |
