"Love Stings" (1988/11/01) from Solo Avengers 12 (November 1988)

Summary: The female Yellowjacket has man troubles in the forms of the Black Knight (for whom she develops a crush) and the Fixer (who wants to crush her). The Wasp also appears.

Continuity: After being freed from an Avengers holding tank, Norbert again escapes the authorities. He pursues the crush that he developed on Rita Demara, the lady Yellowjacket. Defeated and unconscious, the Fixer escapes via the autopilot in his armor.

Comments: This funny, half-length, change-of-pace story benefits from a clever plot and light-handed artwork from Amanda Conner. It’s unfortunate that much of the humor comes from portraying the Fixer as a buffoon.
