Summary: Spider-Man plays man-in-the middle when the assassin known as Blood Rose goes after a crime boss called The Foreigner. Meanwhile, Richard Fisk, son of the Kingpin and presumed deceased, washes up on a tropical island where he is nursed back to health by a mystery man called Trench. While Spidey becomes embroiled with the Foreigner’s hired hands, the New Enforcers, Trench is betrayed by the man he has rescued, who steals some electronic weaponry of Trench’s and dubs himself Gauntlet. Trench, donning the costume of Nightwatch, pursues Gauntlet to New York and arrives just in time to join the showdown between Spider-Man (decked out in his new Spider Armor), Blood Rose and the New Enforcers.

The New Enforcers are (outer circle) Blitz, Dragon Man, Dreadnaught, The Eel, Plantman, The Super-Adaptoid, Tangle, Thermite, and The Vanisher; (inner circle) The Controller, The Fixer, Madame Menace, Mentallo, and Mr. Fear.

Continuity: Plantman is arrested. No further details will ever be revealed of the Fixer's role as a member of the New Enforcers’ "inner circle."

Comments: A sprawling, overly violent and pointlessly long piece of junk. Author Terry Kavanagh seems more interested in the dull-as-dishwater Blood Rose and the introduction of Nightwatch than in telling a story about Spider-Man. No respect is given the very dangerous Dragon Man and Super-Adaptoid, and the finale’s hook, the introduction of the "Spider Armor," is a gimmick with no payoff.
