"Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent genius will not; un-rewarded genius is almost a proverb. "It takes a great man to be a good listener."
Grace and Calvin were touring a chicken farm when they came upon a rooster who was on top of a hen. Grace turned to the farmer and asked, "Does he do that often?" The farmer replied, "Yes mam, everyday." She then said, "Tell that to the President." The embarrassed farmer told Calvin, "Mrs. Coolidge said to tell you he does that every day." Without missing a beat, Calvin asked, "With the same hen?" The farmer said, "No." To which Calvin stated, "Tell THAT to Mrs. Coolidge."
-This was in the book FIRST LADIES by Carl S. Anthony. I forgot who sent it to us.
