Normal

1. Lithographed on white wove paper with blue frame and rose or red center.
2. There are white hairlines noticeable in the lower tablets. In the tablet with the 12 in it, there is a long line above the numeral and 2 small ones below it. In the tablet with the Cs in it, there is 2 small lines above the Cs and one below it. On heavily inked copies these lines may not be as noticeable, but forgers seem to have "fixed" these details and don't appear on forgeries.

The following details can be applied to all the values of the 1865 issues
3. The design measures approx. 18.5mm x 22mm
4. The tilde above the N in ESPANA touches neither the N or the outer oval.
5. There are 3 distinct shading lines on the left side of the castle in the upper right corner.

1. On a genuine stamp there should be 3 distinct shading lines on the left side of the castle in the upper right corner. This forgery has them all running together and touching the left side of the castle.
2. The inner oval line is thinner than on a genuine stamp. The outer frame line is also much thinner than on the genuine.
3. The 3-pointed ornament that is on the left hand side of the stamp between the central oval and the left frame, midway up the stamp, shows considerable differences with that of the original.
4. The C in CORREOS is narrower than on a genuine stamp.
