Latest Update: Spring Break 2004 rocked! I spent it in Panama City with my big sister Kimmy and a bunch of cool peeps!
Hey everyone...what's up? I'm Justin... I am a twenty year-old Sophomore at the
University of Central Florida. I was born and raised in rural Mountain Home, Arkansas, and I graduated (Magna Cum Laude) on May, 25, 2001, from Mountain Home High School. I played in the percussion section of the
MHHS Band
and also served as Drum Major for three years. I was also involved in: National
Honor Society, FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology), FBLA, Spanish Club, Tennis, and Kids Teaching Kids. Arkansas will always be my home, but I have moved on to bigger and better things in Florida!
Here at UCF, I am a member of the
Marching Knights percussion line and love it. I served as the first president of my residence hall (Building 101) at the UCF Academic Village during my Freshman year. In January I began my job as a Resident Assistant on campus. I was also a member of the 2003 UCF Orientation Team (O-Team). Recently, I accepted a bid to become a founding father of UCF's chapter of Sigma Nu Fraternity. I am currently an International Relations/Comparative Politics major.
This past summer I worked for UCF Orientation Services as a member of the 2003 Orientation Team (O-Team). The O-Team represents the entire university at all fifteen freshman orientations and eleven transfer orientations. 11,000 students came through this summer - it was an awesome experience! I was recently selected as a Student Orientation Coordinator for O-Team 2004.
I was recently selected as a member of the President's Leadership Council at UCF. As a member of this distinguished group, I serve as an ambassador to the Office of the President and to the university. Some of our responsibilities include greeting distinguished university guests, giving VIP campus tours, attending Board of Trustees meetings, commencement and convocation ceremonies, and attending formals at the president's home.
Last fall I started my third year at the University of Central Florida, in Orlando, Florida.

I love to travel and have been to many places both in the US and
in Europe. My favorite vacation spot is Florida, where I often used to travel to with my family during the summer. I have been to Fort
Walton Beach, Pensacola Beach, Daytona Beach, and Orlando. In
March of 2000 I traveled to Spain with the MHHS Spanish Club on a
9-day tour highlighting Madrid, Valencia, and Barcelona.
On April 16-18, 1999, I attended the Hugh O'Brian Youth
Leadership conference in Springdale, Arkansas. I was the only
Sophomore at MHHS selected to attend. Last summer, I participated
in the Arkansas Ambassadors of Music. This was a group of band
students from around the state who came together and toured
Europe. We went to England, France, Switzerland, Liechtenstein,
Austria, Italy, and Germany. We played concerts in London,
England; Paris, France; Champery, Switzerland; Seefeld, Austria;
and Rothenburg, Germany.
On May 3-6, 2001, I traveled with the MHHS Band to Gatlinburg,
Tennessee, to participate in the Smokey Mountain Music Festival.
Our band participated in the concert and parade band
competitions. We place First in both areas, and spent the rest of
our time enjoying Gatlinburg and visiting Dollywood in Pigeon
Forge.
