Dear One Who Cares:
I really appreciate what you have done/are doing. I received no notice that Geocities was closing down and last tried to log in just after they already closed. I have had my site under reconstruction for a while behind the scenes, due to prolonged/repeated illnesses. I only had some of the graphics files saved on disc and none of the html. I am totally devastated. If you have any way to recover my files, I would be eternally grateful. My website was dedicated to my brother who passed away when he was 16, and to organ donation/transplant information, as we donated his organs and four people had a chance at life that they otherwise would not have. As I said, I was doing a reconstruction behind the scenes when I wasn't ill, and have now lost all my files. HotSprings/7897/ When you get around to it, please let me know what you could retrieve and if you got a list of files somehow. Thank you for this amazing thing you've taken on. "e-Mel"

That's a great work you did there... I'm a young Gen Y, so geocities wasn't so dear to me, but I understand the need for history-keeping... and usability! I recently stumbled upon a site when looking for some Javascript-related answers, and the style was very geocities, so I wondered if it was. A broken link got me the answer: it pointed to geocities.com/about_richard_bowles
I changed that to reocities, but still nothing. However the guy seems to have backed up quite a bit of his site... so just in case, there's a link: http://richardbowles.tripod.com
I find more and more great resources while searching through google which were on geocities... many have already been backed up, it's great!!!
Thanks a great deal and keep going

Since I recently purchased a 1972 Mach 1 (August 09) I wanted to create a place where other Mach 1 owners had a place to call there own from around the world! I searched the net trying to find a place that was pretty much exclusive to the Mach 1 and found that there isn't any. What we hope to accomplish with this site is to have all available information and tech info for the Mach 1. There are a lot of Mustang websites on the internet but this is the place to gather all the Mach 1 information in one place! Come Join The Club! Mach1Club.com
Admin, please feel free to list your website on our site as well!

Thanks for keeping my old Geocities site intact, but I had already saved the information I wanted to keep on my hard drive and I closed my Amazon account, so the book store no longer works.
So you can remove heartland/flats/7375 from your database.

It wasn't much, but my website stood for ten years!

From early August through to the bitter end (and since, for I am still editing), I have been involved in the attempt to save all GeoCities sites related to the television series Forever Knight. These are mostly now in the FK Website Archive at www.foreverknight.org (though we don't yet have an ToC for them). Checking, I'm sure we have a few things you don't have. Or at least we have things that you don't have sorted out yet.
I also saved a large number of other sites, some of which you don't seem to have. This especially applies to sites related to Anne McCaffrey's Dragonriders of Pern series. I made a side-project of this when I realized a lot of these sites did not even have bad copies available via the Wayback Machine.
I e-mailed you about this. (It's probably in your Inbox or deleted as spam.) I attached a list of the sites I saved.
I would very much like to send you anything I have that you don't. However, my own site was a RogersYahoo site, i.e. Canadian GeoCities, and has also gone--except for the copy in our archives. Also, the FK Website Archive webspace isn't mine: it was donated by another fan. So I can't upload the sites I've saved "somewhere", as you ask, not having a "somewhere" to put them.

In 1978 Canada issued a stamp to recognize Captain Cook. I have
the Post Office poster for that issue available for sale. It is a
lovely item and suitable for framing. Write me if interested.

Has anyone here looked at reocities ranking on the Alexa scale?
Here are some interesting facts:
• Alexa ranks the Netherlands with a ranking of 9,505 as number one, compared to other countries - this is not surprising since Reocities is located in the Netherlands
• Reocities is ranked second with a country rank of # 18,193 in Ireland . I don’t know why – does anyone?
• The USA comes in at number three with a country ranking of 29,917
• Canada (my home) come in fourth with a country ranking of 40,391, just slightly ahead of Greece and the United Kingdom
