|Spring Over Axle|
|I was running 2" add-a-leafs & 2" longer shackles. I liked that setup but in December 2000 decided it was time for a SPOA. I bought Breeze spring perches and lower shock mounts from Tim at North Coast Offroad. Longer brake lines were found at a junk yard off a Metro. Driveshaft spacers were obtained from a friend. One of the hard parts for me was deciding what springs to use. I knew I wanted more than just the basic 4.5" lift. But with only 31"s to fill in the fenderwells, I didn't want to be to tall......
The front pack is as follows(as of 7/29/01); Rear main leaf, rear leaf, CJ leaf, CJ leaf. Using Calmini Boomerang Shackles
The rear pack is as follows; Rear main leaf, CJ leaf, rear leaf, overload leaf. Using Dessert Steel 2" longer shackles.
With this setup I ended up with about a 6" lift and the Zuk sits almost level. I'll see how the springs hold up after a few trail rides.
The front shocks are Monroe's that I picked up at Advanced Auto for $25 (for 2). They measure 14" compressed & 24" extended.
The rear shocks are Doetsch Tech's that a friend gave me. Nice friend! They measure 15" compressed & 25" extended.
