| Strays extracted from LDS films of parish register transcripts (the originals held by the West County Studies Library). In 1997 the author began systematically reading all available films for the Hartland-Bideford-Torrington-Shebbear region. Whilst extracting surnames of interest the author decided to record all strays to reduce the chances of having to re- and re-order films. As time permits these parish extractions are now being made available. The parishes listed below are the parishes that have been read. Those that have extractions available are highlighted in gold. It should be noted that where time permitted all details were extracted, however in many cases only a surname and place were extracted. It should also be noted that generally these extractions have not been double checked. Although care has been taken in the initial extraction, it is advisable that researchers verify information before formally using it in their research. |
