Stitches-
----------sl st - slip stitch
----------double hitch stitch (ds) - basic 2-part tatting and Cro-Tat stitch
----------picot (p) - side joinings = 1/4'' space between ds stitches
------------------------top of Rings = 5/8'' space between ds stitches
----------Join - insert hook into specified p, pull up loop to stand for 1st half of next
--------------------ds, then make 2nd half of ds, one ds made-

Instructions-

Round 1-
Center Ring - (2ds, p) 8 times, 2ds, close R, sl st in the closure space just made, ch 1 long loop to match length of picots.
Ring with 9 loops made.

Round 2-
Ch1 (for "sc"), then
*ch2, R (= 2ds, side-joining p, 3ds, top-of-Ring picot, 3ds, side-joining p, 2ds), close R, ch2, sc in next p on Center R*,
Repeat * to * 8 times, sc in beginning "ch1 for sc". Break off leaving enough thread to weave in.
9 Rings made on this round.

Round 3-
Starting in the top p of any Ring, *R in the p (= pull up a loop in the picot, then do 2ds, side-joining p, 3ds, top-of-Ring picot, 3ds, side-joining p, 2ds), close R,
ch5, R in next p, ch5*, Repeat * to * 8 times, sl st into base of first R of this round, Break off leaving enough thread to weave into the R.
18 Rings made on this round.

Round 4 (all picots on this round are 5/8'')-
Starting in the top p of any Ring on a p, *R in the p (= pull up a loop in the picot, then do 2ds, p, 2ds, p, 2ds, p, 2ds), close R,
ch7, Small R in next p (= 2ds, p, 2ds), close R, ch7, Small R in next p (= 2ds, p, 2ds), close R, ch7*, Repeat * to * 5 times, sl st into base of first R of tis round, Break off leaving enough thread to weave into the R.
6 large Rings with 2 Small Rings between, = 18 rings total on this round.

Round 5-
Starting in the ch-7 space between any two Small R, *sc, ch7, sc in p of next Small R, sc in first p of next large R, ch5, sc in top p of same R, ch4, sl st in the sc (crochet picot made), ch5, sc in the last p of same R, sc in p of next Small R, ch7*, Repeat * to * 5 times, sl st in first sc. Break off leaving enough thread to weave in.
6 points made.

Block and stiffen as desired.
