~Smoky Bar-B-Q Glaze~ 1 tablespoon vegetable oil 1 small finely chopped onion 2 cloves minced garlic 1 tablespoon mild paprika 1 teaspoon dry mustard 1/4 teaspoon salt 1 cup ketchup/chili sauce 2 tablespoons packed brown sugar 2 tablespoons cider vinegar ~Directions~ 1.In saucepan, heat oil over medium heat 2.Fry onion, garlic, paprika, mustard & salt stirring occasionally until softened (about 3 minutes) 3.Add ketchup, ½ cup water, sugar & vinegar; bring to a boil 4.Reduce heat and simmer until mixture flows slowly when spatula is drawn across bottom of pot & is like think ketchup (about 20 minutes) 5.In food processor or blender, puree sauce until smooth Make ahead~ Let cool Refrigerate in airtight container for up to 2 weeks
