| Yes The Malachi 5. What you've never heard of the Malachi 5 before? But they're world famous...well maybe not world famous, actually its closer to "semi-popular" in Moravia, Brantingham, and Cicero, New York. So What is the Malachi 5 you ask. Who are the members, what do they sing? Well I was there when the band was formed, and I have the inside scoop on the band members, so sit back and relax while I tell you about Malachi 5 the only opera/gospel group I have ever heard of. |
| How was the Band Formed? Well the band members of Malachi and I all work at Casowasco, a christian camp in Moravia,NY. We were on our way to Utica to meet with our with our sister camp, Camp Aldersgate for some training. So we're all in this van singing camp songs, and talking when someone comes up with the great idea of singing the camp songs Opera Style. The guys did a stiring rendition of Pharoh Pharoh, and the rest was history, the Malachi's had been born! Later that day they even performed for the first time in Brantingham NY, at Camp Aldersgate. It was truly a great day in Music History. |
| How did they come up with the name Malachi 5? Malachi is a lesser known italian prophet. His cousin Malachi actually has his own book in the bible. The guys paid a great tribute to Malachi by naming their band after him. |
| What Do the Malachi's Sing? The Malachi's sing Opera/Gospel. Some of their greatest hits, include "Pharoh Pharoh", and "Awesome God". |

| Where Can I See the Malachi's? Unfortuantly for now the Malachi's are not currently touring. They are back at school, or pursuing their "real" careers. But I have heard rumors of a reunion tour, begining in Anchorage Alaska sometime soon. |
