Backroads Gallery & Sculpture Garden celebrates its 11th season from 7 july to 18 august, 2007 with its annual invitational show. 30 artists from 9 states were invited to participate in the show "Translation: Dreams/Nightmares." Artists were challenged to interpret the theme, through various post-modern and cutting-edge media including altered books, drawing, fresco, installation, collage and mixed media, painting, photography, printmaking, textile, indoor and outdoor video installation and sculpture.

In addition, 39 artists from 15 states responded to a "Call for Artists" creating small work based on the same theme. The maximum size of the flatwork was 5"x 8" or 8" x 5", or no larger than an 8" cube for three-dimensional work. All small work is displayed as a "Wall Grid Collaborative Installation".
