1. A HARVEST OF FRIENDS September 11, 1974

The Ingalls family moves to Walnut Grove, build a farm and buy seed so they can plant their first crop. But Pa could not afford to buy this seed so he says he will pay the guy later. To pay for the seeds Pa takes another job at the Feed and Seed fixing the sign and roof and stacking sacks of grain. After coming home after a hard days work, the Ingalls decide to go on a picnic. Pa, while flying a kite, gets it stuck in a big tree. Pa shouts that he will get it and climbs the tree. While reaching out to get the kite, he slips out of the tree and breaks his ribs. With broken ribs, Pa can not plow the field or go back to work. Realizing that if Pa does not complete the work at the Feed and Seed, the Ingalls will lose everything. Pa goes back to the Feed and Seed, and Laura and Mary watch him.When Pa is dragging a sack he collapses, so Laura and Mary continue dragging over the sack that Pa dropped when he collapsed. The other men in the Town see what Laura and Mary are doing, and come over to help. They also plow Pa's land, and Laura comments that Pa had planted the best harvest of all, "A Harvest of Friends."

2. COUNTRY GIRLS September 18, 1974

When Laura and Mary go to school for the first time Laura meets Nellie Olsen.  In this show Nellie and Laura become true enemys.

3. THE 100 MILE WALK September 25, 1974

When Pa's crop gets ruined by an unexpected hail storm,  Pa walks 100 miles and finds a job at a railroad camp working with a sledge hammer, wedge, and dynamite.

4. MR. EDWARDS' HOMECOMING October 2, 1974

When Mr.Edwards for the first time comes to Walnut Grove, the Ingalls family persuades him to stay.  Here he meets Grace Snider and begins to fall in love with her.

5. THE LOVE OF JOHNNY JOHNSON October 9, 1974

When a new boy named Johnny Johnson moves to Walnut Grove, Laura`s eyes are glued to him.  One of her first crushes.  Johnny likes Laura only as a friend, but has his eyes on Mary.   This causes jealousy between Mary and Laura.

7. TOWN PARTY, COUNTRY PARTY October 30, 1974

Nellie has a party and invites all the girls in her class.  Nellie shows off all her pretty things.  Laura twisted her ankle at the party because Nellie pushes her when she tries to touch Nellie's doll.  There was also a girl there named Olga.  One of her legs were shorter then the other and she limps when she walks.  The next weekend, Mary and Laura have a party of their own and invite all the girls, including Nellie and Olga. They play games and Laura gets back at Nellie by pushing her in the creek.  Pa makes a special shoe for Olga, allowing her to run around and play like a regular girl.

9. SCHOOL MOM November 13, 1974

When Miss Beadle breaks her leg by falling off the wagon, Ma takes over as teacher for the school.  Here Ma meets what the children call, "Dumb Able."  Ma and the school children work together teach Able to read.

12. THE AWARD December 11, 1974

When there is going to be special award to the student who does the best on an upcoming special exam, Mary studies really hard to win it.  She borrows an expensive book from Miss Beadle, and stays up late each night studying.  One night, while Mary was studying late, the light kept Laura awake, so Mary takes a lantern and studies in the barn.  Mary soon falls asleep and kicks the lantern over and catches the barn on fire.  Ma comes racing out, and with the help of Laura and Mary, puts the fire out before the barn is destroyed.  Ma, angry at Mary, tells her she cannot take part in the special exam, and Mary quietly accepts this.  The next day, while cleaning the barn, Mary discovers the book was destroyed in the fire, and works at the Mercantile so that she can buy a new book.  Eventually, Mary earns enough money to replace the book and admits to Miss Beadle she can not take part in the exam.

13. THE LORD IS MY SHEPHERD (Two Hour Episode) December 18, 1974

When Ma has a baby boy, Charles Jr, Laura gets jealous because Pa pays more attention to the baby. When the baby gets sick and Ma and Pa ask the girls to pray, Laura does not give the extra prayer.  When the baby dies,  Laura sees how unhappy Pa is, and she runs away to the mountains to be closer to God.  She prays that God would exchange her life for Charles Jr so Pa can be happy again.  In the mean time, Pa gets very worried and fears he will now lose two children instead of one. He and Mr. Edwards search the country looking for Laura as Pa gets weaker.  Laura is visited by a stranger who tells her that God has choosen that Laura should stay with her Pa, and that he will take good care of Charles Jr. Eventually Pa finds Laura, and they all go home happy!

17. PLAGUE January 29, 1975

When the rats get into the cornmeal they spread typhus to the townspeople.  The school house is converted to a hospital where Dr. Baker, Edwards, and Pa tend the sick while the rest of the town was isolated to prevent the spread of the plague. Many people continued to get sick and eventually die as the plague kept spreading because they could not find the connection. Eventually Charles and Dr. Baker realize the cornmeal is the connection, and to get rid of the rats and fleas they burned the building where the cornmeal was stored, rats and all.
