The Commentary

Before I begin the commentary, I'll talk about the site. As you may have noticed on the right side... the sections have been replaces with chart archives. The reason for this is because I want this site to focus on charts and the songs themselves. Therefore, I've got reviews on the left, and the chart archive on the right. No more news or stuff like that.

Creed is spending their 12th week in the countdown.. and their 2nd week at number 1 -- without a bullet. The song is definately slowing down. There will be a new number 1 in the next few weeks. Jewel spent 7 weeks at number 1, now she is steady at number 2 for a 2nd week. I still love "Standing Still", it's classic! "Caramel" by City High is spending a 17th week in the chart... that's weird because it definately doesn't feel like it. It's been slowly moving up and down the chart.. and finally this week, it leaps to #4. Suddenly, I LOVE this song!! Up to #12 is Amanda Marshall with "Everybody's Got a Story". At first, I wasn't feeling this song, I thought it sucked. In the past few weeks, it's really grown on me. It's not a typical Amanda song, it's great!

You know what song is really great? "Ain't It Funny" by Jennifer Lopez. I'll go as far as saying it's her second best song ever, next to "Love Don't Cost a Thing". It's a really simple song, but it's just great. The only debut this week is "Cry" by Mandy Moore. It's FINALLY a single! I've been waiting for about 5 months. It's about time! On commercial charts, it can go either way. it'll either be huge or a flop. On Rob's Top 40, though, it's a definate hit!
